Dr. Myron Schmidt has been practicing in Johnson County for over 39 years and was first introduced to chiropractic care as a teenager, after sustaining several back injuries.
"While I was growing up in Iowa, I injured my back several times and was in a lot of pain. Luckily, I had a friend of the family who was a chiropractor and was able to go to him for treatment. This chiropractor took a personal interest in me and even let me shadow him around the office to observe what he did and how he treated his patients. Eventually, I decided that if I was going to be going to seek chiropractic care for my injuries, I might as well just become one myself. So, even before starting college, I had decided what I wanted to do with my life... help people in the same way I had been helped."
Dr. Schmidt finished his undergraduate studies at Mid-America Nazarene University in Olathe, KS and received his Doctorate in Chiropractic Medicine from Cleveland Chiropractic College in 1982. He established his practice in Overland Park, KS and built it into the family business that it is today with a lot of love and support from his wife of 41 years and their two daughters (one of which, works at his office).
He realizes there can be some hesitancy in seeking chiropractic care which is why he prides himself in being honest with his patients and tries to treat them the way he would want to be treated. Dr. Schmidt feels very blessed to have developed close relationships with many of his patients and their families, and is honored to have earned the trust of so many great people in the Johnson County area.
